Peter Drucker
Peter Drucker was one of the most important strategic theorists and was prolific for many decades. He had many theories regarding strategic management but there were two that he is remembered for. Firstly he stressed the importance of objectives, and that an organisation without clear objectives would not be successful. He developed the theory of Management of Objectives, whereby the procedure of setting objectives must be monitored and progressed throughout the whole organisation. His second theory was regarding intellectual capital and it’s importance. He gave focus to the knowledge worker and when work is carried out in teams the most knowledgeable worker would be the leader. There are consequences for the management of strategies depending on the skills of the teams.
